Hi J & Q & Mods, why the wager requirement increased to 200k for poker tournments? is it just that the community increased with many people? or miss configured in the website?
You can ask me, I’m the one dealing with the decision making and finances.
I’m not gonna BS you or whatsoever and gonna be brutally transparent even if it’s probably not common to be this transparent.
No we definitely don’t have more affiliates reaching the wager requirement, quite the opposite.
Despite us giving even more money than before we don’t have significant wager volume anymore and very few people are doing it. We give more money than we make ourselves at this point.
I increased the wager requirement (and put an automatic payout to qualified and registered users even if tournament end up not taking place cause not enough players qualified and registered) because we need to make the money to give it.
This way, with higher requirement, we are supposed to make a bit of money to pay for the $1,000 prizepool.
I’d be happy to lower it down again, if/when more people will reach it and it will not be at loss for us.
thank you J for being transparent on this topic. I stayed long in this community now and thought that there is lot of going on now than before (not so active right now compared to before being a father), looks like not the case. when you do not make enough to make this competition, it definitely makes sense to increase the wager requirement.
We’re trying hard but I don’t have all the answers. I wish I did, my life would be way easier and less stressful.
Will keep trying and maybe we will manage to get more affiliate and wager volume again.
Also have to take into account that we are growing the company, already have high operating costs, we’re hiring and stuff and it cost us money so we cannot indefinitely give away most of our commission if volume doesn’t compensate.
I guess you can spread the word to your friends, the more players, the more chances we have to be able to do more and give more.
